Hi Jenny,
Thankyou so much for the use of your beautiful home. We really did have a lovely time despite the 'iffy' weather. We managed to get out every day to go biking and play on the beach. George really enjoyed his night time strolls along your beach looking for crabs and starfish. I was amazed that we were able to find a starfish in the same pool for 2 consecutive nights. I am assuming that it was the same one.
For your information as well as the happy hour at the pool in Portree on Wednesday evenings, they also do a swimming happy hour for 50p at the Kyle of Lochalsh leisure centre, which is almost a huge log cabin. It's cute, but the best bit is the amazing play park next to it. It is fab. Maybe these are things to note in your visitor info for those with kids. There's also a great toy shop in Kyle and it's not over priced. This is where we bought George's fab kite from.
We are already looking forward to our next trip.
Thank you again

This was our 3rd stay at Moeraki and it was good to see the autumn colours on the mountainsides having previously seen them snow-capped at Christmas and heather clad in summer. The house was as comfortable and cosy as always, despite the wind and the rain outside for a lot of the week.
The local otter swam past a couple of times when the tide was going out and we also saw otters at the furthest of the Storr Lochs.
Thanks for everything - hope to be back again before long.

Jenny,
A very comfortable cottage and a great base for visiting the island and beyond. Our main reasons for coming to Skye were to enjoy a less-hectic holiday and take some landscape photographs, (some of which I will upload onto your Facebook page as requested).
We will always remember the friendly people and the awesome landscape. Thanks to the great Bill Brandt for the inspiration.
Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful holiday home.

Dear Jenny
Thankyou so much for your email
We had a most enjoyable week chilling out at Moeraki so comfortable and cosy, we only manage one or two weeks holiday in a year as we are farming people, so to go to somewhere like Moeraki and just relax is just perfect, waking up in the morning to the glorious sea views even on the wet days was just fantastic, we enjoyed exploring Skye and managed to see Golden Eagles and Sea Eagles on our travels, I don't think there are many roads we didn't explore and the scenery never dissapointed us, we also saw seals from the cottage and an abundance of birds but not the elusive otter, but hopefully if we decide to return to Skye in the future we may be lucky next time, we sampled most of the restaurants in and around Broadford and the food and service was excellent in them all. Thankyou for allowing us to stay in your beautiful holiday home and hope we will be able to stay there again in the not too distant future.

Hi Jenny
We have just returned from our week at Moeraki. We had a lovely time (like before) - the cottage still has everything you could wish for and we spent hours sitting looking at the view. It was good to be back. The weather wasn't brilliant so it was great to have somewhere so comfortable to chill out. Our favourite place to eat was the Red Skye and the Cuillin View tea shop at Elgol does good scones and a large selection of tea - recommended.
Once again thanks for providing such a lovely place for a holiday.
Kind Regards,
Iain

Dear Jenny
Thank you for returning our deposit cheque which arrived today.
We found Moeraki ideal for our family gathering celebrating our Golden Wedding. The cottage came "highly recommended" and lived up to all expectations. It had all mod cons, was very comfortable (especially the beds) and our bikes were kept dry in the shed. Actually, although we had some showery days, the weather never kept us indoors for long and we enjoyed walking, scrambling and cycling. On other days we enjoyed arts and crafts on the Waternish Peninsular, Plockton and even Masai dancers at the McDonald Centre at Sleat.
The seaview from the front of the house was sublime although we did not see the otter, only the heron. It was a wonderful base from which to explore the enchanted island.
All in all a memorable, relaxing and most enjoyable week.
Thank you very much.

A great holiday although somewhat mixed weather. A fantastic holiday house - everything you could possibly need. Top trips were the drive to Elgol, the Coral beach and the Fairy Pools. The nearby Serpentarium great for kids on a wet day and Creelers really good for lunch. The Old Inn at Carbost nice and for the kids the Sligachan Inn ideal as playground outside. Altogether a great trip and stay. Thanks so much.

Dear Jenny
Thanks for returning our deposit cheque so quickly! We really did have a fabulous time in Skye. The house is just stunning - you have thought of everything and it really is home from home. The girls loved having a bedroom each - something they don't often get on holiday - and also loved having access to the beach. They saw seals quite often but alas, no otter, despite being up at about 6 some mornings! The beds were very comfortable, as was the lounge.
The Wii was great on the one day we had torrential rain as was Jenga :)
Both ourselves, and my parents, enjoyed visiting the various galleries and studios in Broadford, and also further afield - Portnalong, Isleornsay, Uig and Portree. We also visited Dunvegan castle, SkyeSkins, Talisker Distlllery, Clan Donald centre and Eilean Donan. The girls enjoyed Eilean Donan best I think but mostly due to a fabulous guide there who pointed out loads of things to them on the way round. The girls were amazed by the many waterfalls we passed and we spent a good few hours river walking. We had a good morning in the Serpentarium, where we all held a lovely Royal Python, watched a snake shed its skin and Freya decided she wanted to adopt a chameleon. If you've got kids, the pool in Portree does a family hour with loads of floats and toys out which the girls had a great time at.
My parents went to the Sea Eagle exhibition at the Aros centre (and got in free as they are RSPB members). They said it was good and the guides were very chatty, friendly and informative.
We ate at Red Skye, Creelers and The Claymore in the Broadford area - all gave us very good food and good service but I think our favourite was Red Skye. Yje atmosphere there is lovely and friendly and the food is fantastic. We also ate at Seamus Bar at Sligachan - very good homemade pies and an excellent play park all made for a relaxing evening or two.
All in all, a great holiday - hopefully, we'll make it back sometime soon.
Thanks so much

Hello Jenny,
Thank you for your lovely email and the return of the good housekeeping cheque.
We had a great holiday at Moeraki, the house was extremely comfortable and very well equipped, especially for a party with 2 elderly and disabled guests. We did get several opportunities to sit out on the patio in the sunshine, and although we didn't spot the otter we did spend several hours looking out over the bay and saw several seals. A pair of binoculars would be a welcome addition for guests, my brother-in-law's were in constant demand!
We visited several places on Skye and the mainland, would recommend the Aros Centre for the sea eagle exhibition and lunch, also a trip on the Bella Jane to Loch Coruisk is not to be missed, especially on a sunny day.
We ate at The Red Skye restaurant on 2 occasions; the food was exccellent and the service very friendly. We also enjoyed lunch and dinnner at the Plockton Shores.
Thanks once again for making our holiday so enjoyable and you may of course use any of these comments on your website.

Dear Jenny,
All returned safely and in excellent spirit after a very satisfying holiday.
Thank you very much for your extremely prompt attention to the return of the deposit. I do not think one would find such a service that the deposit for a holiday home is returned before one has managed to get back home.
All enjoyed their stay at your lovely, well equipped and comfortable holiday home. I have been to a number of similar type accommodation also in other countries and none were as good as Moeraki. Maybe also the excellent location right at the sea makes a difference too. The views from the front rooms across to the mainland or island(s) were breathtaking, the breaking waves or the birdlife (did not see any otter though) along the water's edge and the ever changing light due to weather, cloud, time of day, or just so, was fascinating.
Our party are keen walkers and we particularly enjoyed the walk around the Quiarang (full round from above and below) and same for Storr with their rock formations. We also did a lovely walk at Ben Eighe (Loch Maree) on the mainland. The choice of walks is boundless though and one cannot do everything. The picturesque town of Portree and Plockton village were highlights too.
The house itself more than met our needs and as I mentioned above is very comfortable and one is always happy to get back tio it after a long day's activity.
I would definitly come again to Moeraki and our group already have been reporting amongst friends and work colleaugues about it. You are sure to see an increase in business fron North Germany for next year.
Also best wishes to you both in your new home. Not only as a scot I consider it as a good move.

Dear Jenny,
Thank you for your email and kind comments. We like to treat other people's properties as we would our own.
We certainly enjoyed our stay in your lovely bungalow. We had a wonderful holiday and as usual the time went too quickly. We must have travelled down almost all the roads on Skye during the week and vote Skye as one of the most picturesque islands off the coast of Britain and we have certainly visited plenty.
Remarks I would make for your website would be that Moeraki is ideally situated for amenities yet with beautiful uninterrupted views of the sea and quiet location is really like being in the middle of nowhere.
The bungalow is very well equipped, is scrupulously clean and well furnished. At high tide the sea comes almost up to the lawn at the front of the bungalow and there are wonderful views across to the mainland.
There is an abundance of wildlife including otters and unusual bird life. Be sure to take binoculars. One excellent trip we did was a boat ride from Portree to see white tailed Eagles.
There are plenty of good restaurants close by.
Thank you for letting us stay at Moeraki and if we decide to come back to Skye we will get in touch.
Also thank you for returning the cheque.

Dear Jenny
Thanks for your email and the safe return of the Good Housekeeping cheque.
Your bungalow was extremely comfortable and so well kitted out-even having a tea bag grabber/strainer ,which i had never even heard of before.
The balconies were much used over the two weeks -the lounge one for the views particularly with the first coffee of the day,and the kitchen one a perfect sun trap late afternoon/evening.
No trace of the otter,in spite of regular checks. In fact wildlife generally was much less visible this holiday.
All in all a great holiday on Skye, lovely weather, scenery amazing, people friendly and local co-op well stocked and helpful.
Thank you for a lovely stay.

Back again, weather mixed, but after so many years of coming to Skye, who cares what the weather does. Have seen the otter twice. The watermill cafe great, as is the chip shop. Lots of great walks and climbs. The Harbour Restaurant in Broadford fab food, good prices, but need to book. Great house, so clean.
Thank you.

Hello Jenny and Dave
Many thanks for the use of Moeraki for a week, we had the most relaxing week even though we were out most days despite some wet weather. Moeraki is in a perfect position on Skye and a luxurious home from home for a week, only small gripe - the cold bathroom floor tiles... and that is only a very small gripe. We have left enough things to do for another visit and would love to come back to Moeraki. We've burned the view from the patio doors into our memories to recall when we feel a bit down.
Many thanks for returning the cheque and big thanks again for letting us stay.

Dear Jenny
Thanks for your email and thanks for the return of the cheque.
We had a good few days stop-over in the Yorkshire Dales. Definitely broke the journey up - I think we covered 1,500 miles in the last two weeks!
I would like to thank you very much for letting us stay in your beautiful home. It really was a home away from home and had everything we could possibly have ever needed. I'm missing the view already so will have to keep looking at the webcam to get my fix! My friend Sally wanted me to say that she found the bed extremely comfortable - she has a water bed at home so when she goes away she sometimes suffers from a bad back but she had absolutely no problems with your mattresses. Also we found the shower great - lots of room. All in all it was a fantastic holiday and we would thoroughly recommend Moeraki to anyone thinking of holidaying in Skye.
Best wishes.

Dear Jenny,
Just to let you know we arrived back home safely.
Thank you so much for letting us stay in your wonderful home. Everything about it was perfect.
We had a fabulous week exploring the Island.
Elgol, Kilt Rock, Staffin Bay, Neist Point, where we watched the sun setting. Magical. Coral Beaches WOW what a beautiful place to spend a gorgeous spring day. We saw Seals at Talisker bay. Amazing. Glenbrittle, Sleat Peninsular. The Quiraing and Old man of Storr.
Everywhere we went was fantastic. Round every corner was something amazing to see.
Cannot wait to be able to come back again. There is so much more to see and do.
Thanks again for introducing us to the amazing Isle of Skye.

Hi Jenny,
Many thanks for the return of the housekeeping cheque, which arrived today.
We had a lovely relaxing week at Moeraki, and the plumber calling was no problem at all.
I did write in the guest book about how pleased we were that everything was just as special as it was on our first visit back in September 2009. It's difficult to come up with additional feedback that hasn't already been said !
We loved the tranquillity of visiting in low season, and it didn't bother us that most places were still closed, though that may not be the case for everyone. I must admit that even we were surprised to find Portree so quiet !
We would love to make a return visit to Moeraki in the future - in the meantime at least we can see a little of the panorama from the webcam ! I often log on just to see what the weather and tide are doing !
Regards,
Karen.

Hi Jenny.
Just back from our short break in your lovely, comfortable holiday home, beautifully equipped and in a stunning situation. We were amazed at the amount of wildlife we could see from the cottage window, including the otter(s). George compiled a list of all the birds we’d seen and I wrote it in your guest book.
The purpose of our visit, as you know, was to introduce our Grandson to his Great Grandmother and his other relatives on Skye. He managed to charm them all!
We hope we can manage back sometime, stay for longer, and not have such a frantic time.
Best wishes.

Very comfortable cottage, love the beds! Best equipped cottage we've ever stayed in. It was a pleasure to cook in the kitchen - and I don't normally like cooking!
Had a lovely week on Skye, one of our favorite places; we'll definitely be back again.
My one disappointment - we didn't see any otters anywhere and we spent 3 hours at Kylerhea Otter Haven!
Thank you for letting us stay in this lovely cottage and for the wine on arrival - lovely!

Hi Jenny
We both had a fantastic relaxing week, a perfect way to recharge the batteries!! Your home on Skye is absolutely amazing, by far the best self catering accommodation we have stayed in - it will be hard to stay anywhere else now as other holiday lets have a lot to live up to! - Moeraki has spoiled us!! - now I know what holiday lets would look like if Carlsberg made them : )
To be honest we didn't really do very much - a lot of places were closed for the winter (so there is plenty for us to do on our next visit!). We got around most of the island though, the scenery was stunning especially the waterfalls you can see from the road after the snow thaw and heavy rain.
We would love to stay at Moeraki again and I would recommend it to anyone - we will definitely be in touch!
Thanks again

Dear Jenny,
Thanks for the returned cheque. We had a very enjoyable stay and found the house as comfortable and well-equipped as we could have wished. Lovely to arrive to a warm house with a sparkling Christmas tree, and the electric fire in the lounge was good for a little boost every now and then.
We did get a clear night or two, so the new ‘star book’ proved its worth. ( Of course, clear nights are cold nights, so there wasn’t very much hanging around outside ! ) Virtually all the ice was gone by the end of Boxing Day, so we got out around the island without any trouble – but still with views of snow on the mountains. Ideal.
Thanks very much for accommodating our odd dates. I very much hope we’ll be back at Moeraki again before too long.
Best wishes for 2011,

Hi Jenny,
Thanks once more for letting us stay in Moeraki - it is without doubt the best holiday home we have stayed in terms of both location and comfort. We were particularly impressed with the high standard of it all. Everything had been thought of (and it felt very much like a home rather than just a base as often holiday homes do). Our six year old spent much of the week rock-pooling when the tide rolled out, and I don't think our dog has ever been happier what with all the swimming and sniffing to be done! With baby number 2 on the way, the peace and tranquillity and stepping out of the rat-race was just what the doctor ordered for all of us. We spotted the elusive Otter at dusk on the second night of our stay, much to our delight. We also spied two golden eagles up near Uig which was a real treat. We'd recommened a drive up to the Faerie Glen near Uig, as well as a drive round the top of the island - the scenery looking out onto the Outer Hebrides is just sensational.
We will definitely be returning to Moeraki. I think it's fair to say it has cast a spell on us all. Please feel free to use anything from this email on your website.
Thank you again,
Gareth, Emily, Noah

Dear Jenny,
Thank you for letting us stay in your fantastic holiday home. It was absolutely ideal - everyone was happy! It's not always easy when you have four boys and a dog - well done!
We loved Skye and will be sure to visit again. In the meantime we will definitely recommend "Moeraki" to family and friends.

P.S. We didn't catch the submarine as we were off walking on the other side of the island.

Dear Jenny,
Thank you for a very comfortable and relaxing holiday. We were captivated by your wildlife “sanctuary” along the shoreline. One calm evening we were seeing the otter on and off for more than 2 ½ hours and watching him dispose of a large plaice and later trot along through the garden. We will treasure all these memories and look forward to coming back for more!

Hi Jenny,
Thank you for your email. We did have to do a spot of extra cleaning before we left as we had quite a lot of wee finger marks on the doors - a 10 month old trying his first steps!!! We had a really nice time weather could have been better but that's Scotland for you. The otter visited the garden most days I think he as a feeding place up behind that he goes to each day. We had quite strong winds for a couple of days which I loved looking at the waves at night. Moeraki is beautiful - I don't think there was anything else you could add to it!! If we are ever going back to Skye we will definitely be in touch with you.
Thanks

Dear Jenny,
You have a very comfortable and well equipped house – excellent!
The best place for fishing is from the Broadford Pier and for those without rods the best fish and chip shop is in Portree harbour. The “house otter” lives to the side of the house and can be seen early morning or in the evening when the tide is in.
We had a great week, great weather, in a great house!

Dear Jenny,
We arrived to dark clouds and blustery winds, but were then treated to a week of great weather. The house is spacious, comfortable, well equipped with great views. We were treated to some lovely otter watching on several evenings, (around 4 – 5pm) with the incoming tide. The best part of every day was coming back to a G and T on the decking watching the sea, birds and sunset.
It was great to have all the info guides and walk books which we used a lot and to have a good range of DVDs
Thanks for all you info and communication.

Jenny,
Thanks for letting us use your wonderful accomodation on Skye. We had a fantastic time. The weather was lovely, even when wet weather came it seemed to blow over very quickly.
The position of the house so close to the shore of Broadford Bay was great. The bay is very sheltered and although rocky, the coast was suitable for our inflatable kayaks, so we had good use of those over the fortnight. The bay is quite sheltered by the mainland and other islands so the sea is very calm.
We drove around most of the island and superb views can be seen wherever you go. The museum on the north of the island is very nice and this area seemed even quiter than other parts for those prefering to have complete peace and tranquility. We also enjoyed the walk down from the end of the road on the sleat penninsular to a lovely sandy beach which we had to ourselves for most of the afternoon (although we shared the bay with a grey seal who was lazing in the water!)
The island was fantastic for bird watching and the otter was a frequent visitor along the coast.
Fishing was best from the pier at Armadale but locals say the bast fishing is from the mainland!

Hi Jenny and Dave
Just got back from a holiday from Skye, a week of which was spent here. THE BEST holiday cottage we've ever stayed in FULL STOP. Enjoyed everything, (especially the huge bed all to myself). Spotted a few seals, although sometimes from a distance you can easily convince yourself a diving cormarant is a seal until it flies away. My mum was convinced at one point she saw a pod of dolphins with dorsal fins sticking out, turned out to be a flock of shags. Anyway, I digress.
A great house in a great place, hope we'll be back (but hopefully we'll bring some sun).
Thankyou!

Dear Jenny,
Every stay or article written has a beginning, middle and end section, where does one begin? Or do they just roll into one?
The beginning Fantastic cottage with all the amenities, comfort and in the perfect setting which we hoped that our pre-booked holiday would live up to. This cottage certainly is what we expected and much more.
Middle section. Such a selection of wildlife right on the doorstep, birds, otter and seals watching us as we watched them. The Isle of Skye has so much to give us. The Cuillins which are so spectacular, the fishing ports, viallages and so many friendly people wherever you rome. The weather has been good apart from one day, pretty good considering you can have all the seasons in one day.
The End. Our holiday has given the family a totally unique experience which we will always remember. No this is not the “End” we will be back again.

Unfortunately the weather was not kind to us, but we still had a great time. The house itself is fantastic; very roomy, well equipped and great views over the sea. I didn’t manage to get onto the Cuillin to complete my last few Munroes here – a great excuse for coming back!

Dear Jenny,
Thank you for comments.
We were absolutely delighted with your home on Skye. The location is superb and the accommodation extremely comfortable. It is equipped and maintained to a very high standard. We will happily recommend it to all our friends.
As you say we reported the "niggles" so that you can maintain the standard. They had minimal impact on our comfort and convenience.
The only thing we could not find was a lemon squeezer.
(Owners comment: Lemon squeezer now on shopping list!)
Please feel free to use our comments on Moeraki on the website. We look forward to returning before too long.

Hi Jenny,
Thanks for the email and apologies for not replying sooner. We had a really lovely time staying at Moeraki with our friends. The house is so spacious that even with the 6 of us it never felt overcrowded. The proximity to the shore was a boon for our toddler daughter who would have happily played there all day, if she'd been allowed. We also discovered the fantastic Creelers restaurant, a handy 10 minute walk away - superb food and lovely atmosphere.
As for niggles and cleanliness, we can't recall any issues of great relevance.
Hopefully we'll get a chance to stay at Moeraki again in the future as it was a great place to have as a base when exploring the southern part of the island (and there was much we didn't see).
Kind regards.

Dear Jenny and Dave,
Thankyou for your email and for the return of the cheque.
We all had a lovely stay at Moeraki. We have stayed in many properties and Moeraki was one of the cleanest, we really appreciated the excellent comfort and cleanliness of the beds and bed linen. We had one niggle, the kitchen tap, I think you will end up with a big water leak if it is not addressed, (comment from owner: the wobbly tap is being addressed).
Moeraki is situated in a perfect location on Skye with fantastic views, unfortunately our photos do no surpass the ones already on the website. We would like to book again in May 2011 on Saturday 28th for 1 week based on 6/7 adult occupancy. Please can you advise me of the cost and I will send a cheque as deposit.
Wishing you all the best,

Hi Jenny,
Yes, all home safe and sound thank you. We had an excellent holiday again, the heating was dealt with quickly and efficiently, so no problem there. The engineer left the offending part by the way, I put it in the wooden cupboard in the back porch just in case you wanted to see it.
Not sure I can add a lot to my previous comments, Moeraki is by far and away the best equipped and maintained holiday home we have stayed at in 20 odd years of self catering, the location and views are fabulous and I cant wait to return.

Hi Jenny,
Many thanks for your e-mail and we had a fabulous time on Skye. We loved spending our evenings in the lounge with a glass of wine looking out at the incredible view. We did lots of walking around Kyleakin, The Cuillens and on the Kyle of Lochalsh surrounded by incredible scenery.
We found Moeraki to be a very comfortable place to stay with all the modern gadgets. I must admit that nobody in my party is very technical so a lot was wasted on us. I apologise for having to phone you about the television and heating and disturbing your evening – especially as it looks as if the problem was a loose cable.
Thankyou for your patience.

Loved everything about Skye!! This was our first time visiting Skye. What a lovely house and breathtaking views. We will definitely be back. The weather was lovely and sunny all week so we did see the island at its best.
Great lunch at the Stein Inn.

Dear Jenny,
We got home safely, after a marathon 475 miles, but as it was lovely weather we arrived in good spirits, even after 11 hours in the car! (only minimal stops on the way). We had a fantastic time at your wonderful house and would love to come again next year. Thank you very much for the bottle of wine and the chocolates. The house was so warm and comfortable and well equipped we wanted for nothing, but I am not sure if the Wii was a blessing, or a curse, as we could not get the children off it in the evenings. And then, when they did get off, they set about trying to watch the full set of your Harry Potter DVDs before the week was over. They did not quite achieve that goal. All that was left for us to do was to sit around the kitchen table with a glass of wine. Hmm, maybe the Wii ws a blessing after all.
Sky is a really beautiful island, and we had lots of good weather despite the odd rainy day. Friday was especially warm as well as sunny. I note that you have now started a Facebook page and as my family are enthusiastic photographers, I am sure there will be plenty of activity to follow. In fact, Daisy, my grand daughter (14) was so inspired by the scenery while staying at Moeraki, it seemed she never took the camera from around her neck for the whole week. When we were at home she was out on the shore every free moment - she has taken some great pictures, and has "developed" quite an eye for a good shot.
My son in law is an avid wildlife follower and the memory of him sitting on your front balcony, with his binoculars, well into the dusk of the evening will remain with me for a long time to come. He did see the otter, but sadly no eagles.
Once again, thank you very much for a great holiday, the memories of which will be with us for many years to come. (Or at least until we come back to top them up!)
Kind regards

Hi Jenny,
Sorry for the delay in replying. The cheque arrived safely - thanks.
We had a great time at Moeraki and to be honest can't really think of anything that would have made the holiday any better.
The directions you sent were easy to follow and spot on. The house was lovely - everything you could possibly want while on holiday and we appreciated the phonecall on arrival (and the wine and sweets!).
Hope to be back again one day.
Kind regards

Hi Jenny,
I've been meaning to email you since we got back to let you know that we had a fantastic time. Your house is beautiful! We were blown away by the luxury and thoughtfulness - we especially like the big lamp in the living room! We really appreciated all of the little details - the DVDs were great, the kitchen is incredibly well-equipped and the showers were hot and powerful. We took advantage of your washing machine, so I didn't have to do all of the washing when I got home! All of the rooms were beautifully decorated - it was great to stay somewhere with real stye and personality. We're already talking about when we can come back, and have throughly recommended it to all of our friends and family. We were lucky enough to glimpse the otter, and saw a golden eagle out by the Cuillins. I will try to add my photos to the Facebook page too; we had great weather, and the island was quite quiet, so very pretty.
...and just to make the holiday even more special, we got engaged! To my total surprise, Danny proposed when we were out walking in Glen Sligachan, very romantic. So Skye will always have a place in our hearts, and I'm sure we'll be back many times.
All the best for the rating assessment that you mentioned, I'm sure that they will love it as much as we did. I would also like to thank you for the helpful information and keeping in touch before and after the holiday, it was much appreciated.
Feel free to use any comments for the website, we wish you all the best with the business and it's clear that you've put a lot of love into it. It really is a five-star experience.
Many thanks again, we will hopefully book another holiday before too long - we might even we a married couple by next time!

Hi Jenny,
Wanted to say what a pleasure it was staying at your house in Skye. We left early on Friday and did not have a chance to write in your guest book, . The house was really nice - the location on the bay superb, the interior decor and modern appointments and conveniences excellent, and the bedding very comfortable. The living room and kitchen areas were surprising large and spacious, and well appointed. My son thoroughly enjoyed the Harry Potter collection of DVDs.
The Isle of Skye provided a great contrast to our comfortable lodging, with it's wild and stark, yet very beautiful landscape. We hiked Old Man of Storr and got some fabulous views over the surrounding lochs, had a great dinner at The Three Chimney's in Colbost, and took the exciting drive over the pass into little Applecross for some great views of the island. Closer to the house, my son and I spent many mornings and afternoons on the rocks by the water, where we were lucky enough to be treated to brief glimpses of your resident otter, seal, and heron. It was a great trip and week, and really appreciated the house. Look forward to coming again in the summer months!
Thanks!

Hi Jenny,
We made it back safely. We just wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic holiday in Skye, it was a brilliant time to go it would seem. We had virtually nothing but blue skies and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets.
We loved Moeraki, the views are stunning and it is amazing to be able to stand and watch otters swimming by with snow clad mountains in the distance. It is also well located for traveling around the island.
I'm slightly intrigued as to how you've set this up because it is certainly the best equipped and furnished place that we've stayed. We go away each New year so we've tried a few places. It really is luxury, and I'd formed the opinion that you must have built it and stayed in it and then had to move for some reason, and that was why it was so well equipped, but then you said you'd never been there in winter. Anyway we loved it, and in particular I loved the shower, nice and powerful, and I really liked the cutlery :o) There were lots of other things we liked, and although we tried the Wii, we didn't actually use it much at all as we were out most days early and not back 'til late, but things like this would certainly be useful for families I imagine.
So thank you for a wonderful stay, hopefully we left it in good order, we took our rubbish away with us with the exception of some recycling stuff which we put in the recycling bin.
We'll certainly recommend you to anyone we hear is going to Skye.
Best Wishes,

Hi Jenny,
Thanks very much for your email, we all arrived back safely after our break at Moeraki. Your communication throughout both the booking period and our stay at Moeraki was fantastic, thank you.
We do a lot of self catering within Scotland and the house was warm, welcoming, finished to a high standard, provided us with all the equipment that one could wish for (BBQ, even a Wii for the kids and big kids!) and is situated in a lovely setting with good local services available at close hand. The views from the house are stunning and we will certainly like to return to Moeraki in the future.
Many thanks again.

Hi Jenny
Thanks for that, we actually had a fabulous time despite the weather. Moeraki is a real home from home with every need provided for. It is an ideal location, close enough to walk to the facilities in Broadford but far enough out to feel away from it all. Watching the otters and seals early in the morning was a real treat. The accommodation is really comfortable even with bad weather there was plenty of games, books, dvds and of course not forgetting the WII.. Ideal base for exploring Skye and the West Coast. Would definitely recommend, and hope to return.

Dear Jenny,
We had a great week in Skye. The weather was good despite dreadfull forecasts.
Moeraki is without doubt the most spacious, comfortable and best equipped holiday homes we have had the pleasure to stay in and we have been taking 2-3 self-catering holidays a year for the last 20 years or so. I particularly enjoyed the view from the living room and being able to birdwatch from the veranda with my breakfast coffee. (The book Skye Birds by RL McMillan would make a good addition to the library if you are thus inclined - http://skyebirds.com/) We intend to return next year with the family if we can organise dates around their work commitments, so hope to be in touch again before too long.
Best wishes

Dear Jenny,
Thanks for the return of the housekeeping cheque which arrived on Thursday despite the mail strike! We had a wonderful time at Moeraki and would highly recommend it to any prospective visitors to Skye. The location of the cottage is excellent, both from the point of excellent sea views- I never grew tired of that - great access from the house to beach - the boys spent hours searching amongst the rocks and having skipping stone competitions on the sea; and also from the point of Broadford being your base.It was ideal to get to all areas of the island and had the benefit of only being 10 mins over the Skye bridge.
The cottage itself - a really modern bungalow- had everything you could think of and then more. Every need was catering for and thought of in advance-fantastically equiped kitchen and ideal games, DVD's with access to the WII and Internet were a real bonus We would love to come back and are very happy for you to use our recommendation.
With best regards

Dear Jenny,
We really enjoyed our stay at your cottage. It is a lovely home with all you need for a relaxing holiday. The cottage has a perfect interior: 3 bathrooms, a great kitchen with all required equipment (even for desired amateur chefs). Washing machine and tumble dryer assure no clothing problems after hiking on the wonderful but muddy Scottish paths. The mattress are very comfortable; the beds have comfortable large quilts - no bedclothes like the British way with sheet and blanket. But the cottage has not only an excellent interior, it also has a perfect site: the sea view is fantastic, nice restaurants can be reached in a small walking distance and even the supermarket is in a walking distance. The only item we missed was a coffee machine or a coffee filter (we Germans love filtered coffee). The cost/performance ratio is more then fair, we really can recommend this cottage.

Dear Jenny,
I just wanted to let you know that we had a very comfortable stay in Moeraki. The house is lovely and you have obviously thought of everything. Unfortunately the weather was not in our favour, but we did manage to get out every day and even enjoyed the rock pools on the beach in front of the house.
We had a great trip to Neist Lighthouse, it’s a super place and enjoyed lunch in Neist pub, it was really nice. We had hoped to see the Cuillins again, but that wasn’t to be this time. It was also good to know that we had easy walking access to the shops, especially with having the baby there.
May be next time we will get better weather!
Best wishes,
Irene, (Glasgow)

Dear Jenny,
We have travelled quite extensively since I took semi-retirement a few years ago and I have to say that Moeraki is the nicest accommodation we have stayed in and to call Moeraki a cottage, we feel is doing it an injustice. It is more like a luxury villa.
Fantastic location being so near to the shore, brilliantly designed (where your experience obviously shines through) and your attention to detail is excellent, even to the small safe situated on the outer wall of the property which is a great idea for guests arriving at all hours of the day or night and has given me ideas for my apartment in Spain which I also rent out.
The generous space of Moeraki is a bonus too and is a plus that will go down well with guests, particularly American tourists.
Our wee dog, Elsie, normally likes to sleep in our bedroom and normally complains if she is not with us, however she was perfectly relaxed when sleeping in the non carpeted rooms, so she must have liked it too.
I previously owned the Kelvingrove Hotel in Glasgow and have first hand experience of how the Scottish Tourist Board inspectors grade the properties they visit and I am sure that they will give you a high accreditation for Moeraki.
After recently refurbishing Moeraki you are no doubt awaiting a visit from the Tourist Board.
We found the scenery of Skye quite stunning and we would recommend the Misty Isle boat trip in Elgol, where Seamus and his son are very good hosts, highly informative and were featured on ITV's 'best tourist attractions and views of Britain', shot in 2007.
We would also recommend the Skye Trekking Centre, where the staff are great, informative and helpful. I was given Fergus, the largest horse, as I am the heaviest, unfortunately.
The Claymore is a good place to eat and really handy to Moeraki.
We hope to book with you again at some point in the future.

Robert and Helena, (Glasgow)

Hi Jenny,
Back home in Yorkshire after a wonderful week in your lovely cottage.
We feel very lucky to have been your first clients. You have created a superb holiday retreat, and it is very clear that you have put a great deal of thought into the comfort of your guests.
We did spot the otter - it was around 8:00 am on Friday morning. The seals didn't put in another appearance, so we must have been really lucky to see them. We did the Plockton seal trip on Friday which we highly recommend - we saw a grey seal in the water and plenty lounging on rocks as well as other wildife.
Hopefully your cleaner found everything in order when she came yesterday, and we can look forward to the return of our cheque.
Good Luck with your bookings and maybe we will be among your future guests one day. We would love to return.
Regards,
Karen (East Yorkshire)
